REVIEWS
The following are a few accolades generated
recently for wines made from Resonance (Reed &
Reynolds) Vineyard fruit:
94 Wine Spectator, May 15, 2005, 2003 Sineann
Resonance Vineyard Pinot Noir: "Ripe, round and
seductive. Fleshy, with currant, plum and
blackberry flavors shaded with hints of sweet,
exotic spice, lingering effortlessly on the
incredibly long, elegant finish. Drink now
through 2015. 506 cases made. -H.S.."
Lemelson Pinot Noir "Resonance" 2004, July 2006
Oregon Pinot Noir Club:
"The Resonance Vineyard has developed into one
of the finest in Oregon wine country. Farmed
biodynamically, it has been the fruit of choice
for awesome single-vineyard bottlings from a
handful of Oregon's elite producers. This new
version from Lemelson may be the finest bottling
from the Resonance Vineyard that I've ever
tried. It's got some dark red fruits at the
remarkably concentrated center, which is then
enveloped in the fresh, dense blue and black
fruit flavors that are more lush and forward
now. Hints of wood, wild berries and more are
all contrasted against a finish of melted
minerals. Really, you have to taste this on the
second day to appreciate the amazing texture.
One of the deepest, richest bottles of Resonance
I've tried from any producer."
93 Wine Enthusiast, May 2006, Lemelson 2003
Resonance Vineyard Pinot Noir: "This
biodynamically farmed vineyard gives great
fruit. Here it is detailed with the full range
of floral aromas, candied red fruits, hints of
cinnamon and plenty of balancing tannins. Just
the right touch with the new oak, too. Lemelson
really nails it in 2003."
91 Wine Enthusiast On-Line, 2005 Sineann
Resonance Vineyard Pinot Noir:
Biodynamically-farmed grapes seem to provide an
extra layer of texture, as the layers of ripe
strawberry and cherry fruit spread across the
palate. It hints at toast, espresso and cola,
while retaining its supple grace.
90 Going Green in Oregon and Washington, by
Patrick Comiskey: 2005 Sineann Resonance
Vineyard Pinot Noir: This wine is a fresh as a
bowl of summer cherries in the glass, with a
brightness and vibrancy that carries through to
the palate. Texturally, it’s fresh and broad,
texturally lifted and bright.
90 Stephen Tanzers International Wine Cellar,
May/June 2006, Lemelson 2003 Resonance Vineyard
Pinot Noir: “Deep red. Deep, chocolate-tinged
cherry and dark berry aromas, with an exotic
note of anise. Quite sweet and lush, with
flavors of cherry preserve, singed strawberry
and spicy oak. This gains sweetness and
brightness with air, the red berry flavors
standing up to the strong spicy character.
Silky, impressively sweet and long. “

93 Wine Enthusiast, May 2006, Sineann 2004
Resonance Vineyard Pinot Noir:
“This biodynamically farmed vineyard delivers
stunning, elegant, textured Pinot. Layer upon
layer upon layer develops in the mouth, from the
ripe strawberry/cherry fruit, masterfully
speckled with toast, espresso and cola notes.
The mouthfeel is silky and supple, and this
lovely wine lives up to its name with an innate
resonance that lingers gracefully in the mouth.
“
Wine Spectator, May 15, 2006, Peter Rosback
covers the map of Oregon and Washington, but the
jewel in the crown is the Resonance Vineyard
bottling, from the Yamhill-Carlton AVA.
91 Wine Spectator, May 15, 2006, Sineann 2004
Resonance Vineyard Pinot Noir: “Has a rawness to
the texture and a youthful grapiness to the
flavors that need time to soften, but the core
has gentle currant and spicy oak flavors that
come together on the finish and linger softly.
The whole is definitely greater than the sum of
its parts. Best after 2007.”
Gold Medal and Top 100 Wines of 2004 at 2004 San
Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition 2002
Lemelson Resonance Pinot Noir: "Fruit-forward
style, rich and concentrated with blueberry,
strawberry jam, cassis, cedar and hints of
baking spice. Creamy vanilla finish."
90 Stephen Tanzer's International Wine Cellar,
2002 Lemelson Resonance Pinot Noir: "Bright
ruby. Lifted, expressive aromas of sandalwood,
spice cake, red berries and wintermint. Elegant
and emphatically red-fruited with juicy flavors
of strawberry, bright raspberry and mint, lifted
by a floral note. Finishes long, spicy and
complete, with red currant and pomegranante
flavors."
